Continuing from last month... OK, the two witnesses were just described as "two olive trees" and "two candlesticks" in Revelation 11:4. Before going further I always like to check and see if any aspect of a prophecy is repeated elsewhere in the Word. Doing so makes defining the symbols that much easier. In Zechariah 4:2-4 we read, "I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof: And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof. So I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord?" This is what I truly find fascinating about prophecy and the Scriptures. There are actually many instances in the Word of God where the symbols are directly defined after a prophet sees them in vision. That is a good thing because it allows us a quick and precise definition. So... what are these symbols defined as?
As we see in this passage, the definition of the two olive trees which hold the oil and the lampstands which bear light are actually defined as something resulting from the work of the Spirit of God and not the power or might of mankind. So almost immediately we discover that the two witnesses cannot possibly be "men." However, it doesn't end there by any means. There are numerous aspects to this prophecy that further confirm this as fact. And please remember that, "...no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." -2 Peter 1:20-21. In other words, my opinion of what a prophetic symbol means is useless. It can only be defined by the same Author that penned it. And when it comes to prophecy, that Author is our God. In fact, Christians have always known that the Word of God is most definitely defined as a righteous source of light, for it is written...

Question: Is Tithing Still Valid Today? Continuing from last month... So, when you tithe, the word says in Colossians the following truth.
In other words, we do not tithe to people; no matter how blessed they may appear to be. The tithe belongs to God and God alone. Yes, we give it to the men of God, but they are ordained of God to use the tithe for His good purpose. We need not worry about how the tithing is used because God will protect His money and he will make sure you are blessed for giving it. However, if you tithe to a minister, or a church that you know for a fact is in apostasy, then you will be held accountable for funding such a work that cripples the work of Christ. Make sure the man of God you tithe to is preaching that which the Lord has written in the Word and nothing else, and make sure he is not yoked with a denomination known to preach heresy and even waste the tithe on ungodly things. there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth." Is it sin not to tithe?
Yes, to rob is to steal, and what does commandment #8 say?
If you knowingly deny God His tithe, you not only steal from God, you are personally doing your part to stop the funding of the Gospel message in these last days. You will be held accountable! What does the Lord say concerning those that rob Him?
How far does this curse go? What happens to those that steal from God?
If you steal the tithe from God, you are a thief who covets that which is not his, and you will not gain Heaven, for it is written that in Heaven, , "..there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life." -Revelation 21:27 |
Psalms 19:7-10, “The law of the LORD [is] perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD [is] sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD [are] right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD [is] pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD [is] clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD [are] true [and] righteous altogether. More to be desired [are they] than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Romans 7:12, “Wherefore the law [is] holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. “ |
Kind Acts and Pleasant Words Promote Health Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. Proverbs 16:24{ML 152.1} Kind, cheerful, encouraging words will prove more effective than the most healing medicines. These will bring courage to the heart of the desponding and discouraged, and the happiness and sunshine brought into the family by kind acts and encouraging words will repay the effort tenfold. The husband should remember that much of the burden of training his children rests upon the mother, that she has much to do with molding their minds. This should call into exercise his tenderest feelings, and with care should he lighten her burdens. He should encourage her to lean upon his large affections and direct her mind to heaven, where there is strength and peace and a final rest for the weary. {ML 152.2} His kindness and loving courtesy will be to her a precious encouragement, and the happiness he imparts will bring joy and peace to his own heart. {ML 152.3} The sweetest type of heaven is a home where the Spirit of the Lord presides. . . . Anything that would mar the peace and unity of the family should be firmly repressed, and kindness and love should be cherished. {ML 152.4} Home should be a place where cheerfulness, courtesy, and love abide; and where these graces dwell, there will abide happiness and peace. {ML 152.5} Those who are fighting the battle of life at great odds may be refreshed and strengthened and encouraged by little attentions which cost nothing. Kindly words simply spoken, little attentions simply bestowed, will sweep away the clouds of temptation which gather over the horizon of the soul. {ML 152.6} How oft we trouble borrow, From road there is no turning -----Advent Review and Sabbath Herald July 29, 1902 “The view held by some that spirituality is a detriment to health, is the sophistry of Satan. The religion of the Bible is not detrimental to the health of either body or mind. The influence of the Spirit of God is the very best medicine for disease. Heaven is all health; and the more deeply heavenly influences are realized, the more sure will be the recovery of the believing invalid. The true principles of Christianity open before all a source of inestimable happiness. Religion is a continual well-spring, from which the Christian can drink at will, and never exhaust the fountain.” Christian Temperance and Bible Hygiene p13 |
Continuing from last month... The Lord has given me a view of other worlds. Wings were given me, and an angel attended me from the city to a place that was bright and glorious. The grass of the place was living green, and the birds there warbled a sweet song. The inhabitants of the place were of all sizes; they were noble, majestic, and lovely. They bore the express image of Jesus, and their countenances beamed with holy joy, expressive of the freedom and happiness of the place. I asked one of them why they were so much more lovely than those on the earth. The reply was, "We have lived in strict obedience to the commandments of God, and have not fallen by disobedience, like those on the earth." . . . I begged of my attending angel to let me remain in that place. I could not bear the thought of coming back to this dark world again. Then the angel said, "You must go back, and if you are faithful, you, with the 144,000, shall have the privilege of visiting all the worlds and viewing the handiwork of God." -Ellen G. White Adventist Home page 543.2 That's right! The modern day proven PROPHET of the Lord, Sister White confirms that which Scriptures declare! The Word states plainly that there ARE "other worlds does it not?
Sister White merely illustrates that which is written with the eyes of a prophet. We will reign over those that live on the other worlds the Almighty created! And by the way, why are they considered "unfallen beings" on these other worlds? Satan and his minions were ONLY cast to this planet!
And we are the ONLY race of beings in the Universes that will know firsthand the knowledge of "good and evil." Therefore we will be good Ambassadors for Christ on these other worlds. It makes all those trials and tribulations seem well worth it now eh?! In other words...
"The life on earth is the beginning of the life in heaven; education on earth is an initiation into the principles of heaven; the lifework here is a training for the lifework there. What we now are, in character and holy service, is the sure foreshadowing of what we shall be. "The Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister." Matthew 20:28. Christ's work below is His work above, and our reward for working with Him in this world will be the greater power and wider privilege of working with Him in the world to come." -Education p308
