Seventh Day Remnant Herald |
This page is to be a tool for those Christians in need of a quick response to those claiming the Sabbath was changed from the 7th day to Sunday the 1st day of the week during the time of the Apostles besides the fact that there is not a single verse to prove this in the Old or New Testament. But Historic record proves the Sabbath was never changed to Sunday by any governing authority until Constantine the 1st on March 7, 321AD. Since there is no Scriptural proof God ever changed His Sabbath day, and since there is historic proof man did try to change it, what is the logical step for the true Christian that seeks to follow the Christian God's will? HISTORIC FACTS ARE AS FOLLOWS... "Unquestionably the first law, either ecclesiastical or civil, by which the sabbatical observance of Sunday is known to have been ordained is the sabbatical edict of Constantine, A.D. 32I." -Chambers" Encyclopedia, Article "Sunday." "On the Venerable Day of the Sun ["venerabili die Solis"--the sacred day of the Sun] let the magistrates and people residing in cities rest, and let all workshops be closed. In the country, however, persons engaged in agriculture may freely and lawfully continue their pursuits; because it often happens that another day is not so suitable for grain-sowing or for vine-planting; lest by neglecting the proper moment for such operations the bounty of heaven should be lost--Given the 7th day of March, [A.D. 321], Crispus and Constantine being consuls each of them for the second time." The First Sunday Law of Constantine 1, in "Codex Justinianus," lib. 3, tit. 12, 3; trans. in Phillip Schaff "History of the Christian Church," Vol. 3, p. 380. The following is what Constantine' law required of the people... "Let all the judges and town people, and the occupation of all trades rest on the venerable day of the sun; but let those who are situated in the country, freely and at full liberty attend to the business of agriculture; because it often happens that no other day is so fit for sowing corn and planting vines; lest the critical moment being let slip, men should lose the commodities granted by Heaven." Translated from the original edict in Latin, now in Harvard College U.S.A. 16 years after Constantine' first Sunday Law of A.D. 321, the Roman church made it official church doctrine by claiming it was a Jewish day. In this church doctrine they also demand all Christians to break Commandment #4 by working on Sabbath! Christians shall not Judaize and be idle on Saturday [in the original: "sabbato" shall not be idle on the Sabbath], but shall work on that day; but the Lord's day they shall especially honour, and as being Christians, shall, if possible, do no work on that day. If, however, they are found Judaizing, they shall be shut out ["anathema,"--excommunicated] from Christ." Council of Laodicea, c. A.D. 337, Canon 29, quoted in C.J. Hefele, "A History of the Councils of the Church," Vol. 2, p. 316. To be continued…. |
Question: Why Does the Lord say to Remember the Sabbath? As we know the Lord God created all that is seen and unseen within six literal days, and then rested and sanctified (set apart for holy use) the seventh day.
The seventh day, or "Sabbath" as we rightfully call it, is a memorial each week that reminds us of all that He has done for us in creation week. As we look around and see the trees, the animals, the oceans, the sky and even our loved ones we realize all of this was the end result of His creating it. Psalms 111:4 clearly says, "He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion." When we remember His Sabbath we are acknowledging Him as our Creator. According to the fourth commandment, this is our duty as Christians.
There is another reason the word "remember" is being used in that passage that many Christians fail to catch. In Isaiah 46:10 we read, "Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:" Since the Lord knows "the end from the beginning," it is obvious He knew we would be taught to forget His Sabbath near the end of time. We can confirm this as fact when we see what His prophets say regarding this topic. For example, Daniel the prophet predicted the following regarding the beast of Revelation that he will, "...think to change times and laws:" (Daniel 7:25) of God. As we can clearly see, most Christian churches do in fact keep Sunday instead of Sabbath holy each week. The Sabbath is within the heart of the "Law" of God, is it not? When we see all the churches following after the beast as was prophesied they would in Revelation 13:3, we see that yes, the Lord is saying to "remember" His Sabbath because the churches have indeed forgotten it. In short, the word "remember" in Exodus 20:8 is in fact a prophetic statement that came about on March 07, 321AD and has been active ever since.

Continuing from last month... The oceans of our present world will be gone from the Heavenly Kingdom once it resides on Earth.
Not only that, but once the Kingdom of Heaven descends from above after the 1000 years and makes Earth its headquarters, the deserts of this earth will actually become gardens, on this re-created planet.
Ever wonder what it would be like to ride a grizzly bear, or play wrestle with a mountain lion? Well this too will become a reality in God's Heaven. The animals will be tame, none will prey upon others, and a little child will lead them.
No more curse upon mankind.
Nor will there be violence of any sort.
This also means no floods, no tornados, no hurricanes, no earthquakes... etc. Nothing defiling in any way will be found in Heaven, plus... NO LIARS!. Revelation 21:27, "And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life." |
Will there be children in Heaven? And will they grow up while residing there? Zechariah 8:5, " And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof.”
Think about that! All those saved parents that have lost their children will be able to see them grow up in heaven with all its awesome gifts and glory! Will we know each other in Heaven?.
Will we have bodies in Heaven?
Is it not written "...we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body..." The Bible says, we'll have the same body Jesus has, and He has flesh and bones! Did you also know that besides the mansion that is built for the children of God in the city of Heaven...
We also will be allowed to go out into the newly created world after the 1000 years and build our own homes with our very own hands.
Imagine that, having all of eternity to build your second home anywhere in a newly created worldwide paradise, and having eternity to perfect it!

Medical Missionary Work Medical missionary work is the pioneer work of the gospel, the door through which the truth for this time is to find entrance to many homes. Gods people are to be genuine medical missionaries; for they are to learn to minister to the needs of both soul and body. The purest unselfishness is to be shown by our workers as, with the knowledge and experience gained by practical work, they go out to give treatments to the sick. As they go from house to house, they will find access to many hearts. Many will be reached who otherwise never would have heard the gospel message. A demonstration of the principles of health reform will do much toward removing prejudice against our evangelical work. The Great Physician, the originator of medical missionary work, will bless all who thus seek to impart the truth for this time. Physical healing is bound up with the gospel mission. When Christ sent his disciples out on their first missionary journey, he bade them: “ As ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.” And when at the close of his earthly ministry he gave them their commission, he said, “These signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils;... they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. |
Of the disciples after Christ’s ascension we read, “ They went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following.” Luke is called “the beloved physician.” He labored in connection with Paul in Philippi; and when Paul left that place, Luke stayed, doing double service as a physician and a gospel minister. He was indeed a medical missionary, and his medical skill opened the way for the gospel to reach many hearts. Christ sought the people where they were, and placed before them the great truths in regard to his kingdom. As he went from place to place, he blessed and comforted the suffering and healed the sick. This is our work. Small companies are to go forth to do the work to which Christ appointed his disciples. While laboring as evangelists, they can visit the sick, praying with them, and if need be, treating them, not with medicines, but with the remedies provided in nature. by E.G. White. John 9:11 says “He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.” SDRindy |
