KEY VERSE / DESCRIBING THESE TWO WITNESSES
Before going further we need to always understand that "...the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." -2 Peter 1:21 The Word of the Almighty is the only tool we have to define prophetic symbolism. One must understand that the book of Revelation is almost entirely written in prophetic symbolism. And the only way to define those symbols is to study the entire Bible. Fact is, there are 404 verses in the book of Revelation, and 278 of those verses can be found almost word for word in all the other books of the Bible. The simple truth here is, if you want to understand prophecy, you must allow the Bible define the symbols first. For those of you that would like a jump start on learning what many of the symbols mean, I have a huge study defining every symbol in Revelation on the site now. The link is in box #3 of the sermon notes.. To be continued….

Question: Is Tithing Still Valid Today? Some are preaching today that the tithing system was abolished at the cross. They seek to teach this by using the assumption that the tithe was somehow instituted by Moses in the ceremonial law, which by the way was in fact abolished at the cross according to Colossians 2:14-17. However, was tithing a law given to Moses, and was he instructed of God to pen them into a temporary system that would eventually end at the arrival of Messiah? Was the tithe part of the types and shadows of the ceremonial law that illustrated Christ's sacrifice as some preach? Or was the tithe a truth that was already in place from the beginning of time?
Simple basic truth is, both Abraham and Jacob were known to give a tithe unto the Lord long before Moses' ceremonial laws were penned. Reality dictates the fact that, because the tithe offering predated Sinai, we have both a timeline and absolute truth in the written Word that it could not have been part of the ceremonial law that ended at Christ's cross. All that was penned by Moses pointed to prophetic events Christ would fulfill when He came as Messiah. Tithing is not a prophetic doctrine. If it is, I challenge all those that preach the tithe ended at Calvary to contact me with the scriptures that prove this. Who receives the tithe?
The Lord has always worked through His ministers since day one. When we tithe we give the tithe to the minister that is feeding us the spiritual food that God instructs him to share with us. Yes, it is a man we give the tithes to, but that is not to say it is not given unto God when we do this. The minister uses the tithing to be able to work full-time for the Lord. He has bills like everyone else does. But he does not work a secular job to pay those bills. To be continued…. |
“The God of my rock; in him will I trust: [he is] my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.” - 2 Samuel 22:3 |
Healing Promises "The Lord redeemeth the soul of His servants: "In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: "Zion said, Jehovah hath forsaken me, and "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: "Ye that have been borne by Me from your birth, Nothing tends more to promote health of body and of soul than does a spirit of gratitude and praise. It is a positive duty to resist melancholy, discontented thoughts and feelings--as much a duty as it is to pray. If we are heaven-bound, how can we go as a band of mourners, groaning and complaining all along the way to our Father's house? {MH 251.1} Those professed Christians who are constantly complaining, and who seem to think cheerfulness and happiness a sin, have not genuine religion. Those who take a mournful pleasure in all that is melancholy in the natural world, who choose to look upon dead leaves rather than to gather the beautiful living flowers, who see no beauty in grand mountain heights and in valleys clothed with living green, who close their senses to the joyful voice which speaks to them in nature, and which is sweet and musical to the listening ear--these are not in Christ. They are gathering to themselves gloom and darkness, when they might have brightness, even the Sun of Righteousness arising in their hearts with healing in His beams. {MH 251.2} Often your mind may be clouded because of pain. Then do not try to think. You know that Jesus loves you. He understands your weakness. You may do His will by simply resting in His arms. {MH 251.3} |
Continuing from last month... A few more tidbits regarding what we will be doing in Heaven. But first, think on these things... Revelation 20:6, "Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years." Have you ever wondered WHO we will reign over? Seeing how EVERYONE that takes part in the first resurrection will reign, who is it we will reign over? Can kings and queens reign over kings and queens? So... who will we reign over? All the treasures of the universe will be open to the study of God's redeemed. Unfettered by mortality, they wing their tireless flight to worlds afar--worlds that thrilled with sorrow at the spectacle of human woe and rang with songs of gladness at the tidings of a ransomed soul. With unutterable delight the children of earth enter into the joy and the wisdom of unfallen beings. They share the treasures of knowledge and understanding gained through the ages upon ages in contemplation of God's handiwork. With undimmed vision they gaze upon the glory of creation-- suns and stars and systems, all in their appointed order circling the throne of Deity. Upon all things, from the least to the greatest, the Creator's name is written, and in all are the riches of His power displayed. -Ellen G. White, Adventist Home 548.1 The redeemed throng will range from world to world, and much of their time will be employed in searching out the mysteries of redemption.- Ellen G. White 7BC 990 (1886). Last day events 301.3 "Ye are My witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God." Isaiah 43:12. This also we shall be in eternity. -Ellen G. White Education 308.2 For what was the great controversy permitted to continue throughout the ages? Why was it that Satan's existence was not cut short at the outset of his rebellion? It was that the universe might be convinced of God's justice in His dealing with evil; that sin might receive eternal condemnation. In the plan of redemption there are heights and depths that eternity itself can never exhaust, marvels into which the angels desire to look. The redeemed only, of all created beings, have in their own experience known the actual conflict with sin; they have wrought with Christ, and, as even the angels could not do, have entered into the fellowship of His sufferings; will they have no testimony as to the science of redemption --nothing that will be of worth to unfallen beings? -Ellen G. White Education 308.4 |
